We washed our chickens yesterday

CHICKEN LAUNDRY

Damn, that’s cute. I’m a bit curious if regular washing is standard practice when you keep chickens. Is it for cooling them off in the summer, getting rid of insects, just for looks and extra cleanliness…? Chickens left to their own devices just dust bathe, as far as I know—I’m told it helps keep bugs off, and birds dust bathing on miserably hot, sweaty days do seem to be enjoying themselves. I personally wouldn’t wanna roll in dust for relief from either heat or bugs and would prefer soap and water, but I’m not a chicken.

brb need to ask my girlfriend if her father ever launders the chickens..
